Overview
A short, scenic and beautifully affordable way to see the best of North Sikkim. You'll drive north from Gangtok along the roaring Teesta to the alpine village of Lachung, then climb into the Yumthang Valley — the "Valley of Flowers" — where rhododendrons, hot springs and snow-dusted peaks ring a meadow at nearly 12,000 ft. With a shared SUV, this is the budget traveller's and solo traveller's favourite first taste of the high Himalaya. We handle every permit, stay and meal in between.

Day-by-day itinerary
Arrive Gangtok
Morning pickup in Gangtok and a spectacular ~6-hour drive north along the Teesta river, stopping at the Seven Sisters and Naga waterfalls. Arrive in the apple-orchard village of Lachung by evening, check in and warm up over dinner.
Yumthang Valley & optional Zero Point
An early start for the Yumthang Valley of Flowers — meadows, a sulphur hot spring and the Teesta running clear and cold. If the road is open and you're feeling the altitude well, add the optional run to Zero Point (Yumesamdong) at ~15,300 ft for snow year-round. Return to Lachung for the night.
Lachung → Gangtok
A relaxed breakfast and one last look at the valley before the scenic drive back to Gangtok, with photo stops along the Teesta. Arrive by late afternoon / evening — in time to connect onward to NJP or Bagdogra the next day
